Location
Is Chalet Sétaz really at the foot of the slopes?
Yes. The chalet is at 188 rue du Praz, right in the centre of Valloire (Savoie, French Alps), 20 metres from the Sétaz gondola, which takes you up to the Galibier-Thabor ski area. You walk to the slopes with your skis on your shoulder.
Where is the chalet in Valloire?
In the heart of the village: shops, restaurants, ski schools and the baroque church are all within walking distance. During your stay, the car can stay in the garage. See the illustrated map of the chalet in Valloire.
How do I get to Valloire by train or by car?
The nearest station is Saint-Michel–Valloire, about 17 km away; buses and taxis run to Valloire, and direct TGV trains connect with Paris depending on the season. By car: take the A43 motorway to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne, then drive up via the Col du Télégraphe. In winter, snow equipment (winter tyres or chains) is compulsory in Savoie from 1 November to 31 March.
The apartments
Which apartment for 10 or 11 people?
Two apartments sleep up to 11 guests. Everest : 108 m², 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, wood-burning fireplace and 20 m² terrace. K2 : 104 m², 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a 15 m² terrace with a view over the valley.
Which apartment for 4 to 6 people?
Mont-Blanc : 50 m² on a single level on the ground floor of the chalet, 2 bedrooms (sleeps up to 6), a shower room and a separate WC. With no stairs, it suits a couple, a small family or a few friends.
Can more than 11 people stay?
Yes, by booking several apartments in the same chalet: Everest and K2 together sleep up to 22 guests (a shared terrace is possible), and all three apartments up to 28 guests. The Booking page shows the combinations available for your dates.
Which apartment has a fireplace?
Everest, with a wood-burning fireplace in the large living room under the timber roof. Firewood is provided.
Facilities and services
Is the sauna private?
The chalet’s sauna, with its adjoining shower, is reserved privately for each apartment two evenings a week: Everest on Sunday and Wednesday, K2 on Monday and Thursday, Mont-Blanc on Tuesday and Friday.
Is there a ski room?
Yes: ski racks, benches, boot warmers and glove warmers. The room locks automatically and opens with your apartment access badge. In summer, it takes your bikes.
Does the chalet have parking?
Yes: one space in the chalet’s garage for Everest and for K2, and one outdoor parking space next to the apartment for Mont-Blanc.
Can I charge an electric car?
Yes, for Everest and K2: an electric car charger is installed in the chalet’s garage, where their parking spaces are.
Are linen and Wi-Fi included?
Yes. Sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, bath towels and tea towels are provided, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi.
Is there equipment for babies?
A baby kit (travel cot and high chair) is available on request.
Your stay
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 4 pm, self check-in with a key box: instructions are sent to you before your stay (let us know if you arrive after 6 pm). Check-out by 10 am at the latest.
How long are stays?
In high season, stays run from Saturday to Saturday. For other periods, the possible arrival days are shown in the booking calendar.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed. The apartments are non-smoking.
Is cleaning included?
An end-of-stay cleaning fee is compulsory; its amount is shown when you book. Other services are available on request, such as daily cleaning, breakfast or groceries delivered on arrival.
Booking
Can I book direct, without Airbnb or Booking.com?
Yes. Choose your dates on the Booking page or on the apartment page: the calendar shows real-time availability and payment is secure. You deal directly with us, before and during your stay.
What are the payment and cancellation terms?
A 30% deposit on booking, then the balance 30 days before arrival. If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival, the deposit is kept; 30 days or less before arrival, the full price of the stay is due. We recommend cancellation insurance. A security deposit of €500 to €1,000 is required depending on the apartment. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
Is the tourist tax included?
No. It is collected on behalf of the municipality of Valloire at the current rate and paid with the balance.

Can I stay at Chalet Sétaz in summer?
Oui. L’été, les cols du Télégraphe et du Galibier partent du village, et les randonnées, le VTT, le bike park et les lacs d’altitude sont tout proches. Le ski-room devient un local à vélos sécurisé. Discover Valloire in summer.
